KLEE – Kombinierte Logik für Energieeffiziente Elektromobilität (Combined logic for energy-efficient electric mobility)

Project Description

In the KLEE project methods for hierarchical energy management in electric vehicles are developed. The goal is to increase the range of electric vehicles by 10% while having a fixed battery capacity by employing an optimized, anticipatory, map and sensor supported driving strategy and drive control. Thereby intelligent driving becomes energy-efficient driving.

fast – fast actuators sensors & transceivers

Project Description

The main goal of the project is the development of an area-wide, adaptive, safe, real-time, wireless communication and locating technology. This technology is applied in vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure (light-signal system and control centers) communication with a latency of 1-10 ms and shall be employed in road safety and cooperative traffic management systems.

AUTONOMOS LABS
AUTONOMOUS CARS FROM BERLIN

Numerous employees of Autonomos GmbH worked before at AutoNOMOS Labs at Freie Universität Berlin, which was a project engaged in the development of autonomous and driver assistance systems for passenger cars and utility vehicles. Under the direction of Tinosch Ganjineh (now CEO at Autonomos GmbH) from 2009 until 2011 12 employees and six students conducted research in autonomous driving technologies. The research project was funded with 2.4 million euro by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research).

THE AUTONOMOS LABS PROJECT ENTAILED THREE SPHERES OF COMPETENCE:

The sphere of 3D sensor technology is concerned with processing and fusion of ambient environment sensors.

DECADES OF ROBOTIC EXPERTISE

Various of our employees had the opportunity to gain experiences during their university studies in different robotics projects. A lot of them were situated at the research group of intelligent systems and robotics at the Freie Universität Berlin. One project was the development of small soccer playing humanoid robots, which compete in the RoboCup Challenge. In 2004 and 2005 a team called FU-Fighters won the world championship titles in the SmallSize league and were developing MidSize league robots as well. Since 2007 the follow-up team – called FUmanoids – won several national and international prizes (e.g. champion in KidSize league at German Open 2015). In 2007 an autonomous car project around a team called Team Berlin was initiated, which developed the automated car “Spirit of Berlin” and participated in the DARPA Urban Grand Challenge, where they reached the semifinal. Since 2009 research on autonomous and assistance systems is conducted in the subsequent project AutoNOMOS Labs. The Berlin United – Racing Team is participating since 2010 with autonomous miniaturized cars in the Carolo-Cup and the Audi Autonomous Driving Cup. A autonomous electric wheelchair was developed in a research project in 2012 and participated in the RoboCup @Home Challenge.
